The Essence of Sharon

Here are a few of the hundreds of Portraits I've done over the years.

This is Jamara , a local singing sensation in Detroit, MI. and marketing genius behind the scenes of many projects.

This is Khadijah on her Wedding Day!
No, it's not traditional to wear black she just wanted to be different!

Khadijah when she was Cindy.

Before the veil and after the transformation into a woman of Islam

The man who went from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X one of the greatest statesmen the world will ever know needs no introduction!

This is one of my greatest influences!
My grandmother was a minister who walked the walk and took the homeless into her own home that she called "God's House"!
That's virtue!

The Fords are the parents of the girlfriend of one of my former coworkers.

Looking for the original photo

Mary's uncle

Original photo was a polaroid (obviously part of a conspiracy to make me go blind!)

Mary's Family (Mary is in the top middle!)

This is a lively bunch who are never in the same place so they commissioned a portrait for their mother so she could see them in one place all at once!

African styled Wedding

As you can see she needed a smile.

Still looking for the photo

This drawing in pencil was for Gene, a Japanese ex-partner who was obsessed with this girl!

(Good thing her boyfriend didn't find out!)

I still can't understand how an Asian man with Asian parents doesn't find Asian women attractive.

We used to argue/debate constantly about it.

Photo Lost during a Move.

Ramaniya

This was a model in Chicago in the 1980's. It was done for one of her relatives.

This is Sarah,a French translator for a Canadien TV station and on air radio personality.

She has requested that I call this "Venus Noire".

She has been very successful at getting me to visit Canada a lot lately.

This is my daughter Yvette.
Her favorite dream is to change into a butterfly and be back before anybody wakes up.

Tacara views Yvette's dream
Tacara is Yvette's sister.
She isn't my daughter but we are close since her father is deceased.

Self Portrait of Rodney Shaddai Leon

What would a gallery of portraits be without one of the Artist himself?

These are a few of the hundreds of portraits that I have painted since 1973.

These weren't chosen because of their special lighting, composition, etc.

They just happened to be some of the few that I still had photos of for various reasons.

If you need something like this for yourself or a special fantasy gift for a special other.

I can and will paint literally ANYTHING!!!!

Then email me at rodneysleon@hotmail.com and get ready to smile!

I guarantee satisfaction with all of my work and refuse to sign anything until

it feels like a masterpiece.
